Job summary

Tetra Tech, Inc. in Oklahoma City is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern / Early Career Engineer to join our Water/Wastewater team.

You will assist with planning, design, calculations, and documentation for infrastructure projects, gaining hands-on experience under seasoned engineers. You will collaborate with engineers across phases of water projects, perform site visits, and develop practical skills in civil design, construction documentation, and project delivery while pursuing FE/EIT

Qualifications

• Senior year of a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or recent ABET-accredited graduate.
• Academic coursework related to civil engineering, environmental engineering, water resources, hydraulics, hydrology, utilities, or infrastructure design.
• Interest in developing a career in water and wastewater engineering.
• Interest in pursuing FE examination and Engineer-in-Training certification.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles, calculations, and problem-solving.
• Exposure to software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, GIS or similar through coursework/internships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize assignments, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Support projects involving treatment facilities, pipelines, conveyance systems, pump stations, and utilities.
• Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses under supervision.
• Prepare engineering drawings, plans, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
• Support development and review of design documents using applicable standards.
• Use engineering software to support project calculations, drawings, and deliverables.
• Assist with data collection, field investigations, and evaluation of existing infrastructure.
• Participate in site visits and field assignments as needed.
