Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a Civil Engineer Designer EIT I-II specializing in water and wastewater. You'll prepare drawings for water and wastewater infrastructure, assist with design and analysis, and engage with clients and regulatory agencies to advance municipal projects.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Environmental/Biosystems degree, an EIT or PE path, and experience with WaterCAD/Innovyze. Strong communication and multi-tasking are essential in this on-site role in the Southeast region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Biosystems Engineering.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain (PE path strongly preferred).
• Experience with municipal water and wastewater clients.
• Experience in planning, design, permitting, and construction administration of infrastructure projects.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience; hydraulic modeling software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction drawings for water and wastewater infrastructure projects including pipelines, treatment facilities, storage tanks, and pump stations.
• Assist with the design and analysis of municipal water and sewer systems.
• Perform hydraulic modeling and system evaluations using WaterCAD, Innovyze, or similar software.
• Support permitting efforts and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
• Participate in construction administration activities including site visits and coordination with contractors.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations.
• Manage project tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality goals.
