Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineer to support water distribution and wastewater projects in Laurel, MD. You will perform designs, calculations, field investigations, and coordination with surveyors and permitting agencies to deliver construction-ready plans.

Ideal candidates hold an ABET-accredited degree with 3–10 years of municipal infrastructure experience and are proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, WaterCAD, SewerGEMS, EPANET, Bluebeam Revu, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• 3-10 years of experience designing municipal water, wastewater, or utility infrastructure projects
• Proficiency with engineering software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam Revu, ArcGIS, WaterCAD, SewerGEMS, and EPANET
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Preparing engineering designs for water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Performing engineering calculations for pipelines, utility systems, grading, and drainage.
• Conducting utility investigations, field visits, and condition assessments.
• Coordinating with surveyors, geotechnical engineers, utility companies, and permitting agencies.
• Developing construction plans, profiles, specifications, and technical reports.
• Preparing cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and engineer's opinions of probable construction cost.
• Supporting permitting activities with local, state, and federal agencies.
• Reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and contractor requests during construction.
• Participating in construction meetings and field inspections.
• Coordinating with CAD designers and technical staff to produce quality construction documents.
• Verifying compliance with applicable engineering standards, client requirements, and quality control procedures.
• Maintaining project schedules and assist with project documentation.
