California Water Service is seeking a Utility Worker for swing shifts to perform relief work in field operations and maintenance tasks. You will change meters, inspect and maintain meters, and assist in flushing and servicing mains and hydrants under supervision.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid California driver’s license, and knowledge of water quality standards. Certification as a Water Distribution Operator II is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Effective communication with supervisors, co-workers and the public.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and interpret safety and operation documents.
• High School diploma or equivalent and valid California Class C driver’s license; insurable.
• Working knowledge of Word processing and email software.

Responsabilités

• Perform relief work in field operations and maintenance tasks.
• Change/replace meters and meter box lids and covers.
• Flush and maintain water mains and associated equipment.
• Set/replace/remove 1-1/2" and 2" meters as needed.
• Notify for shutdowns and assist in station maintenance.
• Collect water samples to a minor extent.
