Job summary

Golden State Water Company is seeking an entry-level Temporary Water Distribution Operator I in California. This training-status role requires immediate supervision as you learn to operate and maintain the water distribution system.

Responsibilities include meter reads, service activations, field investigations, and assisting in repairs of mains, valves and hydrants. Must have a valid CA driver's license and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Good communication skills required.
• General PC skills required.
• Valid California driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Learns to perform tasks in maintenance and operation of a water distribution system.
• Learns proper use of tools and equipment.
• Under direction, participates in installation, repairs and replacement of water mains, services, valves, hydrants and meters.
• Interacts with customers as a Company representative.
• Performs meter reads, ons and offs and field investigations.
• Performs collection activities of delinquent accounts.
• Participates in routine maintenance such as system flushing, valve exercising and hydrant maintenance.
• Follows established policies in equipment repair to ensure proper working order.
• Operates company vehicles and equipment per safety procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Available for emergency response 24/7.
• Works under immediate supervision.
