Job summary

Washington Water Service is seeking a Utility Worker to perform field operations and maintenance in Gig Harbor, WA. The role requires independent judgment, initiative, and the ability to work under supervision while maintaining strong teamwork with colleagues.

Key duties include operating service trucks, performing meter and hydrant work, sample collection for lab testing, and preparing required reports. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and a valid WA driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience as an Operation Maintenance Worker or Utility Worker-Construction is preferred.
• Ability to work at height and in confined spaces for cleaning and maintenance of reservoirs.
• Must meet annual respiratory protection program requirements, including mask fit testing.
• Valid Washington driver’s license and insurability under our plan.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and operates service truck daily, loads materials and equipment, and cleans equipment as needed.
• Communicates with office staff and supervisor via radio, phone, and reports; maintains daily logs.
• Operates company vehicle to travel to work areas; ensures public and personal safety in all tasks.
• Attend meetings and trainings related to maintenance of certification.
• Responds to customer service items and urgent requests as needed; completes tasks in a timely manner.
