Job summary

Town of Gilbert is seeking a Wells Utility Supervisor to lead a team and oversee Gilbert's water distribution and well sites, ensuring reliable service and regulatory compliance.

The role reports to the Water Distribution Superintendent and drives SCADA monitoring, maintenance, budget forecasting, and capital projects. It requires strong leadership, relevant certifications, and a track record in water operations. This is an at-will, exempt, on-site position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• 5+ years in water treatment plant or wells/reservoir operations and maintenance.
• 2+ years in lead or supervisory role.
• Certifications: Grade II Water Treatment, Grade IV Distribution; reciprocity if from another state.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of up to eleven; provide daily direction, training, evaluations and coaching.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, maintenance, and repairs across Gilbert's water infrastructure.
• Monitor water system performance via SCADA and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Plan and coordinate capital improvements and technology upgrades (e.g., remote chlorination).
• Prepare and manage the department's annual operating budget including forecasting and tracking expenditures.
