Job summary

The City of Englewood is seeking a Utilities Superintendent of Operations and Maintenance to lead maintenance and operation programs for water treatment, wastewater collection, and distribution systems. You will supervise staff, manage budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance in a dynamic municipal setting.

Reporting to the Utilities Manager, you will develop training materials, coordinate with engineers, and drive capital projects to improve city utilities while maintaining service reliability

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred in construction management, civil engineering or related field
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience related to operation, repair, and maintenance of water distribution, treatment, or pumping systems

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop assigned staff; manage HR, asset management, inventory, and budget
• Define and manage water treatment plant and distribution system maintenance programs
• Oversee asset management program and computerized work management system
• Coordinate with engineering and other departments and outside agencies
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety procedures
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure project alignment with city goals
