Job summary

City of Coachella is seeking a management-level professional to plan, organize, and supervise the maintenance and operations of water production and distribution systems. You will oversee capital improvements, budgeting, safety programs, and coordination with other departments and agencies.

The role requires extensive knowledge of water utilities, staff leadership, and regulatory compliance. Candidates should have strong supervisory experience and a background in public works or utilities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED supplemented by college-level coursework in civil, environmental, public or business administration, or related field.
• Five years of increasingly responsible experience in water utility or public works maintenance, including supervisory/administrative experience.
• An Associate's degree in construction management, public works, business or public administration is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, and reviews work of staff in maintenance and operations of water systems.
• Participates in development of goals, policies, and budgets for assigned services.
• Evaluates performance and assists in selection and promotion; provides training in procedures.
• Monitors operations and recommends improvements to service delivery.
