Job summary

City of West Sacramento seeks a Lead Water Maintenance Worker to perform and lead the installation, maintenance, repair, and improvement of the City’s potable water distribution system. Qualifications

• Advanced journey-level position focusing on installation, maintenance and upgrades of potable water distribution systems.
• Experience providing lead direction, training and oversight to field crews.
• Strong knowledge of water distribution regulations and safe drinking water standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff in excavating, inspecting, flushing, cleaning and repairing water mains, lines and laterals.
• Install, repair, upgrade and replace manholes, hydrants, valves, meters and meter vaults while following preventive maintenance schedules.
• Test water volume and pressure; ensure work complies with safety and regulatory standards.
• Provide direction and training to subordinate personnel and coordinate with supervisors.
