Job summary

The City of Henderson is seeking to create a consideration for hire list and to fill one vacancy for the Utility Maintenance Aide - Water Operations (Part-Time/PERS Eligible) in the Department of Utility Services. The work schedule averages 29 hours per week and may vary based on department needs.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, one year of maintenance experience, OSHA card, Nevada driver’s license, and forklift certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or the equivalent.
• One year of full-time work experience in the maintenance of mechanical equipment, pumps, valves, piping, and/or buildings.
• Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered.
• Must obtain and maintain the appropriate OSHA card as defined by the Nevada Revised Statute (NRS 618.950).
• Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483.
• Must obtain and maintain City Forklift Certification within thirty (30) days of hire as a condition of continued employment.
• Employee will be expected to complete assigned training courses through the City of Henderson's learning management system.
• All required licenses and certificates, as mandated by local, state, and federal laws, or as required herein, must be obtained and maintained as a condition of continued employment and at the incumbents’ expense

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, performs a variety of manual labor tasks associated with the routine maintenance and repair of water, sewer, and utility facilities; assists with general warehouse and inventory tasks; and performs related duties as assigned.
• This position may require flexible work schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as department needs dictate.
