Job summary

Gfoat seeks a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to support water distribution, wastewater collection, and street/drainage system projects in Richardson, TX. You will operate excavators, graders, loaders, and backhoes to install and repair systems, drive trucks with equipment, and perform routine maintenance.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Texas Class A CDL, and water licenses or timeline to obtain them.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Texas Commercial Driver’s License, Class A, required or must be obtained within 6 months.
Must have or maintain Class II Waste Water and Class C Water Distribution Licenses or obtain within one year of hire.
One year experience operating heavy motorized equipment.
Experience in water/sewer field operations or utility construction.
Knowledge of TCEQ and AWWA Rules and Regulations.
Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

Operate excavators, graders, loaders, rollers and other heavy equipment.
Drive dump trucks with heavy equipment to job locations.
Operate backhoe hydraulic jackhammer to break pavement and uncover lines; excavate for pipe and concrete/asphalt work.
Assist crews in construction and repairs as needed.
Perform daily preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
Follow written and oral job instructions and work safely around equipment.
