Job summary

The Town of Marana is seeking a Construction Inspector to join the Water Department in Marana, Arizona. This full-time role will inspect water and sewer construction projects, including capital improvement and developer-funded work, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and all applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency plus six months of education/training.
• Three years of experience in the construction of underground utilities or closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Attends meetings for design recommendations, plan reviews for constructability, potential construction schedules, phasing and sequencing, and project specifications.
• Conducts worksite inspections and testing; monitors construction progress and ensure compliance with the contract documents.
• Maintains daily records of work performed; maintains as-builts during construction; compiles project reports and post-construction project documentation for approval.
• Interprets plans and specifications; reviews contractor submittals, material submittals, tests reports and certifications.
• Oversees and coordinates all quality control testing and safety compliance for projects.
