Job summary

The Town of Marana is seeking a Senior Right-Of-Way Inspector to join the CIP Division in the Public Works Department. This full-time role involves ensuring permits comply with traffic control requirements, reviewing plans, and coordinating final inspections.

Qualified candidates will have an Associates degree, 5+ years of construction/inspection experience, a valid AZ driver license, and the ability to complete a pre-employment physical and background checks.

Qualifications

• Over five years of construction and inspection experience.
• ATSSA Traffic Control certification or must obtain within one year of hire.
• Valid Arizona Driver License.
• Must complete a pre-employment physical and background/mVR checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform compliance inspections for permit duration including traffic control.
• Review and route permits; identify fees and requirements for routine permits.
• Review construction plans and approve routine traffic control plans.
• Assess site conditions; evaluate permit plans for conflicts; set project-specific permit conditions.
• Perform permit closeout and warranty inspections; coordinate final inspections.

Position Description

The Town of Marana is seeking a Senior Right-Of-Way Inspector to work in the CIP Division of the Public Works Department. Expected Hiring Range: $28.08 - $34.40 hourly

• Placement within the expected hiring range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget.

Salary Range: $28.08 – $40.72 hourly

Examples of Duties

• Performs compliance inspections for duration of the permit including traffic control; issues permit extensions; and issues noncompliance notices.
• Issues permits by routing permit through review process with all stake holders; identifies all applicable fees and requirements for all routine permits.
• Reviews construction plans and approves routine traffic control plans.
• Assess site conditions and proposed future improvements; evaluates plans submitted for permits for any conflicts and establishes project specific permit conditions.
• Performs permit closeout and warranty by coordinating and performing final inspections; reviews submitted material and tests data for compliance; and issues closeout permit and closeout letters. Assist Operations and Maintenance with warranty inspections.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates degree.
• Over five years of experience in construction and inspection activities.
• ATSSA Traffic Control certification or must obtain within one year of hire.
• Valid Arizona Driver License.
• Must complete a pre-employment physical.
• Complete both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check.

An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in construction management, Engineering Technology, Surveying / Land Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
• Specific knowledge in Civil Construction Inspections.
