Job summary

Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction is seeking a Water Truck Driver to operate the Water Truck and support other heavy equipment on our construction sites in Oklahoma.

You will perform daily safety checks, maintain equipment, follow supervisor directions, and assist with general labor tasks as needed. A Class A or B CDL and at least 2 years of Street Sweeper Operator experience are required; overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Class A or B CDL.
• 2+ years as Street Sweeper Operator.
• Willing to perform laborer tasks.
• Team player with a professional attitude.
• Able to work safely under pressure with time constraints.
• Lift up to 75 lbs; frequent bending and climbing.
• Clear communication and comprehension of safety instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Water Truck and other equipment safely.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks.
• Proper start-up, operation, and shutdown knowledge.
• Operate water spray in designated areas.
• Monitor vehicle performance and fluid levels.
• Train new employees on safe operation.
• Perform other construction duties as required.
• Adhere to the company Code of Ethics.

Position Description

Water Truck Driver responsibilities and abilities include but are not limited to the list below. Other duties may be assigned.

• Operate the Water Truck and other equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
• Proper machine start-up, operation, and shutdown knowledge.
• Operate the Water Truck safely and efficiently.
• Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area.
• Fill truck tank with water.
• Spray water in designated areas.
• Monitor vehicle performance, fluid levels, and mechanical fitness.
• Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the Water Truck.
• Operate other heavy equipment and other construction related duties as required.
• Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.
• Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.

• High School diploma/GED.
• Have a minimum of 2 years of Street Sweeper Operator experience.
• Must have a Class A or Class B- CDL.
• Willing to do laborer work.
• Ability to work as a Team Member and work in a professional manner and a positive attitude.
• Motivated self-starter and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work safely under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment.
• Frequent cross body movements such as bending, climbing into equipment, lifting (up to 75lbs), twisting, standing, balancing, stooping, handling materials, moving around hazardous sites.
• Good Eye to Hand coordination a must. Depth perception required.
• Flexible availability to include overtime and possible weekends.
• Must have the ability to communicate clearly, listen and understand information through spoken works and sentences to ensure full comprehension of job duties, safety regulations, and other situations that may require an immediate response.
