Job summary

Under the supervision of the Water Plant Superintendent, the role requires CDL, safety knowledge, reading maps, and availability for after-hours emergencies. Salary range Grade 5 ($49,552–$64,405); apply by 9/1/26.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year(s) of experience in water system operations and maintenance.
• DEQ S-4 and F-4 certifications to be obtained within two years of hire and maintained.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
• Knowledge of safety procedures in water system operation.
• Ability to read utility maps and service lines.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the City of Alma's water treatment plant and distribution system to provide safe drinking water.
• Assist with other water plant tasks as required by operational demands.
• Respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis and attend meetings outside normal business hours.
