The Multi-Domain Solutions (MDS) division is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Water Treatment Technician to maintain and optimize water treatment systems critical to HVAC operations in commercial, industrial, or large institutional buildings. This role ensures the efficiency, safety, and longevity of HVAC systems—such as cooling towers, boilers, and chillers—by managing and maintaining proper water chemistry and treatment processes.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Maintain and monitor water treatment systems associated with HVAC equipment including cooling towers, boilers, chillers, and related components.
2. Test water for critical parameters such as pH, alkalinity, hardness, conductivity, chlorine levels, and biological contaminants.
3. Interpret test results and apply appropriate chemical treatments to prevent scaling, corrosion, and biological growth.
4. Maintain accurate records of water quality testing and chemical usage.
5. Perform regular maintenance on water treatment equipment, including pumps, filters, controllers, and dosing systems.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to water chemistry or equipment malfunction.

Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental and safety regulations.

Work collaboratively with HVAC technicians, building engineers, and facility managers to ensure optimal system performance.

Basic Qualifications

1. TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
2. High school diploma or equivalent.
3. 2-4 years of relevant experience in water treatment, HVAC, or related mechanical fields.
4. Completion of a formal training program in water treatment, HVAC, or a related mechanical field.
5. Hands-on experience inspecting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems and water treatment equipment.
6. Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as pH meters, conductivity meters, and chemical test kits.
7. Ability to disassemble, overhaul, and repair water treatment components and HVAC equipment.
8. Experience performing mechanical and electrical adjustments and repairs.
9. Ability to work independently with limited supervision and solve moderately complex problems.
10. Strong communication skills to collaborate with project teams and internal departments.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience or knowledge in:
2. Cooling Systems - Installation and service of HVAC and refrigeration units.
3. Hydraulics and Pneumatics - Maintenance of fluid and air power systems.
4. Preventive and Routine Maintenance - Scheduling and executing regular service intervals.
5. Failure Analysis - Investigating equipment failures and root causes.
6. Technical Documentation - Interpreting mechanical and water treatment specifications.
7. Troubleshooting - Identifying and resolving mechanical and electrical issues.
8. Energy Efficiency - Practices to improve system performance and reduce energy consumption.
9. Project Management - Leading repair or maintenance projects.
10. Safety and Regulatory Compliance - Ensuring a safe work environment and adherence to standards.
11. Certifications such as HVAC, water treatment, or mechanical repair (e.g., EPA, HVAC certifications).

Pay Range: $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
