Job summary

The City of Fort Worth Water Department is seeking a Water Systems Technician I to operate and maintain multiple water and wastewater treatment facilities. The role includes monitoring plant equipment, performing lab analyses, and supporting maintenance activities while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Possession of or ability to obtain Water/Wastewater Class D license.
• May be required to obtain Class C license within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Operates and adjusts treatment plant pumps, motors, feeders and other equipment.
• Participates in routine laboratory analysis to determine plant efficiency.
• Assists mechanical staff with maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Records information from charts, gauges, meters and scales.
• Monitors the work area to ensure a safe environment.

Education
