Job summary

The Town of Natick Department of Public Works is seeking a qualified Station Operator with a 3T (OIT) Drinking Water License. Under the Water/Sewer Division Supervisor, you will perform skilled water treatment, maintenance, and repair on pumping equipment and related systems.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, MA 3T license, and at least 3 years of related experience. The position requires a valid MA driver’s license, CDL with Air Brakes (or ability to obtain within 6 months), and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Massachusetts 3T or 3T-OIT license required.
• At least 3 years in repair/maintenance of water treatment and sewer pumping equipment preferred.
• Experience in municipal water/sewer or public works operations.
• Valid MA Class D license and Class B CDL w/ Air Brakes or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Able to lift 60 pounds and perform physically demanding labor.
• Strong work ethic; able to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent communication with coworkers, contractors, and the public.
• Schedule may include weekends; 4- or 5-day weeks; 40 hours per week.
• On-call 24/7 rotations for assigned weeks; CORI check and DOT pre-employment physical including drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled water treatment, maintenance, and repair on standard and specialized equipment.
• Work under Water/Sewer Division Supervisor direction.
• Interact with coworkers, contractors, and the public in a professional manner.
• Occasionally work weekends and be on-call as scheduled.
• Complete CORI checks and DOT pre-employment requirements.
