Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Drinking Water Treatment Process Engineer to support Northeast water projects. The role can be based in MA or RI offices and offers a hybrid schedule.

You will design and support groundwater and surface water treatment plants, pump stations, and upgrades, guiding projects from concept to startup. The successful candidate has a Civil/Environmental Engineering degree, 2+ years of water treatment design experience, and EIT/PE progression.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field
• 2+ years of water treatment design experience
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or PE license in progress or eligible by reciprocity
• Valid US Driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to communicate effectively within project teams and with clients
• CAD proficiency and technical report writing
• Experience with 3D drafting/BIM products such as Plant 3D, Revit, or Navisworks is a plus

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical memoranda, reports, calculations, correspondences, designs, drawings, specifications, permit applications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates on less complex projects
• Assist Project Manager and senior staff with schedules and budgets on less complex projects
• Work with subconsultants under Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager
• May serve as Lead Designer on less complex projects to produce a complete project
• Review calculations, design assumptions, and concepts to assure quality control
• Develop scope of work, budgets, and schedules for proposals
• Prepare technical presentations and participate in client meetings
• Work within hourly budgets and monitor self-performance
• Develop expertise in local, state, and federal regulations
• Maintain relationships with clients and communicate regularly
• Lead fieldwork, site visits, and startup observations
• Support construction administration with submittals and reports
