Job summary

Woodard & Curran in Defiance, MO is seeking an operator/technician to join the water treatment plant team. You will participate in daily operations, maintenance, and monitoring to ensure high-quality drinking water and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Missouri water treatment plant operator’s license and a Missouri driver’s license, plus ability to work second shift, respond to emergencies, and complete a background check and pre-placement physical.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a Water Treatment Plant and monitoring processes.
• Ability to interpret Standard Methods samples and daily process data.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications for data logging and reporting.
• Strong attention to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant operations to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Collect and analyze water samples per Standard Methods procedures.
• Perform minor maintenance on plant equipment and facilities.
• Respond to emergencies and follow the emergency operations plan.
• Maintain current State operator’s license.
• Keep chemical stock and safety equipment up to date.
