Job summary

City of Northglenn seeks a qualified Water Plant Operator for its Water Treatment Facility. The role involves operating a 14-million-gallon-per-day plant, monitoring SCADA, collecting samples, and maintaining equipment and records.

The ideal candidate will hold a Colorado CWP, a high school diploma, a valid CO driver’s license, and First Aid/CPR certification. Training provided for required certifications; benefits included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Colorado driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• CWP certification at hire or within six months of employment.
• First Aid and CPR certification within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor a 14-million-gallon-per-day water treatment facility.
• Monitor plant conditions via SCADA and perform laboratory testing.
• Collect and analyze water samples (raw, settled, filtered, finished).
• Operate pumps, valves, filters, and chemical feeders; adjust dosages as needed.
• Perform backwashes, calibrate instruments, and maintain records.
• Respond to alarms and abnormal conditions; communicate changes during shifts.
