Job summary

City of Peoria is seeking a Utility Plant Operator I at the Greenway Water Treatment Plant to monitor, operate and perform basic preventative maintenance on treatment facilities. You will conduct routine inspections, identify issues on processes and equipment, and complete related tasks as assigned.

Shift work, weekends and standby duty may be required. Required is a high school diploma or GED, a valid Arizona Class D driver’s license, and the ability to obtain ADEQ Grade I Water or Wastewater

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain ADEQ Grade I Water or Grade I Wastewater Certification within one year of hire.
• Solid understanding of standard and specialized techniques, methods, practices, procedures, and forms.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate and perform basic preventative maintenance on treatment plants.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify issues on processes and equipment.
• Complete related tasks as assigned; shift work, weekends, holidays, standby and call-back may be required.
