Liberty Community Program is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team. As a Water Treatment Plant Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of the water supplied to our facilities. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and maintaining water treatment equipment, conducting tests and analyses, and implementing processes to treat water in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor water treatment facilities, ensuring that all processes are functioning safely and effectively.
- Conduct routine tests on water samples to assess quality and compliance with health standards.
- Adjust chemical dosages and treatment processes based on testing results to maintain optimal water quality.
- Maintain records of water treatment operations, including daily logs of tests, treatments, and maintenance activities.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on water treatment equipment to ensure smooth operations.
- Respond to emergencies or unusual situations and take corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with state and local agencies to ensure compliance with water quality standards and other regulations.
- Participate in training and development activities to improve operational skills and knowledge of water treatment processes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications in water treatment or a related field are preferred.
- Valid State Water Treatment Operator certification or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
- Experience working in water treatment operations or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, chemicals, and equipment.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in heavy equipment operation with a focus on safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for effective reporting and collaboration.
- Ability to analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Excellent data collection skills for monitoring plant operations.
- Physical stamina to perform duties, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environments.
Qualifications:
- Experience with SCADA systems and other monitoring technologies.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations relating to water treatment.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
