Job description

Over the next few years, the national fibre network will be expanded by adding 20,000 new route kilometres to enhance its size, reach, and bandwidth.

Lucas TCS will undertake civil works to support fibre optic cable installation, including running cables using fibre-laying dozers in regional areas within SA and WA.

This project is unique and suitable for individuals capable of living off-grid in remote areas with limited amenities and without some conveniences of modern life.

The required plant experience is specific. We seek highly skilled all-rounder Plant Operators who are proactive, practical, and effective team players.

Plant experience required (at least two of):

• Grader

HR License is highly regarded.

Must be willing to labour and assist as needed throughout the project.

Please note: a substantial amount of walking may be involved on some days.

Position Requirements:

• Must reside within Western Australia. Interstate applicants will not be considered at this stage.
• Construction Industry White Card (classroom)
• Current driver's license, full C minimum; HR preferred.
• Able to meet the standards of a Category 3 Rail Medical, including drug testing.

Accommodation:

This project is based remotely off-grid. Site personnel will stay in caravans equipped with standard comforts, including a large fridge, kitchen, bathroom, double bed, dining table, washing machine, and air conditioning. You will be responsible for maintaining the caravan.

Meals:

You will be responsible for cooking your own meals. An allowance for meals will be provided daily.

Communication:

Satellite internet will be used for communication.

Travel:

Travel requirements will vary as the project progresses, including air and road travel. Only applicants residing in WA, SA, or nearby regional areas will be considered.
