Job summary

City of Brighton is seeking a Water Treatment Operator at multiple levels to ensure safe, high-quality water and regulatory compliance. The role involves monitoring SCADA, operating RO and Greensand filtration, and maintaining optimal treatment performance across facilities.

You will report to the Water Treatment Plant Manager, mentor junior staff, perform routine maintenance, collect samples, and participate in emergency response.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Colorado CCWP certification levels are required or obtainable within six months for D.
• Experience in water treatment plant operation is preferred.
• CCWP certificates indicate rising responsibilities and authority.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SCADA to control water treatment processes in real time.
• Analyze data and trends to optimize plant performance.
• Collaborate with SCADA Technician to integrate systems.
• Mentor junior staff on SCADA operations and best practices.
• Inspect meters and gauges; ensure accurate readings and safety.
