Job summary

Kinross is seeking a Water Treatment Plant Operator at the Buckhorn Mine in Oroville, WA. The role focuses on safe, efficient operation, maintenance support, and water quality monitoring for the WTP.

Responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance and coordinating with environmental teams to meet discharge and permit requirements. The successful candidate will have RO plant experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work with multiple teams in a mining

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience operating reverse osmosis water treatment plants.
• Underground mining experience preferred but not required.
• Experience coordinating with consultants, vendors, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Strong communication and analytical skills; ability to interact with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Water Treatment Plant safely, efficiently and within budget.
• Monitor water quality and ensure compliance with permits and discharge requirements.
• Understand site water balance to meet production targets.
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain WTP equipment and piping.
• Coordinate with environmental team and contractor partners on approvals and data collection.
• Cross-train and operate the K2 WTP as needed.
• Operate and manage ancillary equipment (e.g., forklift).
• Adhere to safety, environmental, confidentiality and conduct policies.
