Job summary

EPCOR is seeking a Water Operator II or III at the Sandow Water Treatment Plant near Lexington, TX. This role operates in a 24/7/365 rotating shift, handling advanced treatment systems and supporting equipment to ensure regulatory compliance and water quality.

Responsibilities include lab testing, equipment maintenance, and process optimization, while complying with safety standards and company policies. A valid TX operator license and a clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years in water or wastewater operations, field maintenance, or mechanical maintenance.
• Experience with mechanical maintenance/repair of pumps, compressors, engines, and related equipment.
• Valid TCEQ Class A/B/C/D Water Operator license required.
• Working knowledge of water treatment systems and maintenance practices.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook or similar office software.
• Willingness to expand technical knowledge and skills in water treatment operations.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water treatment processes including RO, UF, and softening systems.
• Operate groundwater wells, remote stations, reservoirs, and related equipment.
• Conduct routine and advanced laboratory testing and interpret results.
• Maintain, calibrate, and verify online water quality analyzers.
• Perform operational, maintenance, and control work on treatment plant systems and pumps.
• Install, repair, and maintain piping, valves, and plant components.
• Conduct facility, well, and remote site inspections and rounds.
• Analyze operational data and communicate findings to team and leadership.
• Support process optimization and troubleshooting with control strategies.
• Assist with construction, fabrication and general facility maintenance activities.
• Operate heavy equipment as required and maintain facility appearance.
