Job summary

San Francisco Public Utilities Commission is seeking a Construction Inspector to perform field inspections on R&R and CIP projects in Millbrae, CA. You will support CEQA compliance, coordinate with engineers, and verify contractor performance. Strong documentation and reporting skills are essential.

The role requires extensive field inspections, QA/QC testing coordination, and accurate as-built record maintenance, with a Monday–Friday schedule and a valid CA driver’s license.

Qualifications

• At least five years of work experience in public or commercial construction projects in roles such as project/resident engineer or inspector.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or closely related field.
• Familiar with inspection types and facility engineering; experience with CEQA is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect construction activities for compliance with standards and contract requirements.
• Prepare field reports, testing logs, and contract closeout documentation.
• Coordinate with environmental management and project teams to resolve field issues.
• Schedule and verify tests and inspections for QA/QC purposes.
• Maintain as-built records and track work progress for payment applications.
• Identify safety hazards and coordinate corrective work; drive to inspection sites.
