Job summary

Volarify in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Water Technician to support residential and commercial mitigation projects. You will perform water extraction, assist with mold remediation, set up equipment, remove debris, and help with structural drying under supervision.

You will follow directions from a Team Leader, maintain safety procedures, document work performed, and ensure customer property is protected throughout the restoration process. Occasional travel and after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

  • Experience with water extraction and structural drying
  • Mold remediation experience preferred
  • Ability to move, protect, and reset customer contents
  • Experience setting drying equipment and monitoring drying progress
  • Knowledge of antimicrobial applications and remediation procedures
  • Perform vehicle inspections and basic maintenance
  • Maintain clean, organized company vehicles and equipment
  • Construct containment systems using polyethylene barriers
  • Remove and properly dispose of damaged building materials and debris
  • Maintain restoration equipment in safe working condition
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

  • Safely operate water extraction equipment, weighted extractors, portable extraction units, and related drying equipment under supervision.
  • Assist with constructing containment systems using polyethylene barriers, HEPA filtration devices, and negative air machines.
  • Properly use cleaning and disinfecting solutions while following approved remediation procedures.
  • Safely move and protect customer belongings using proper lifting techniques and protective materials.
  • Assist with demolition, vapor barrier removal, labeling recoverable materials, and installation of specialty drying systems including Injectidry, Directed-In, and Octi-Dry equipment.
  • Utilize moisture meters and monitoring equipment to document drying progress.
  • Protect customer property while maintaining exceptional customer service throughout the restoration process.
  • Complete work efficiently while meeting project schedules and deadlines.
  • Be available for periodic travel, after-hours emergency response, weekend work, and on-call assignments as needed.
  • Accurately document labor hours, equipment usage, and materials consumed.
  • Participate in company-sponsored training programs and required safety meetings.

Position Overview

Our Client is seeking a Water Damage Technician to provide operational support during residential and commercial mitigation projects. This role is responsible for water extraction, mold remediation support, equipment setup, debris removal, and assisting with structural drying efforts. Working under the direction of experienced team members, you will utilize specialized mitigation equipment while delivering high-quality service and protecting customer property throughout the restoration process.

Qualifications


  • Ability to identify restoration products, consumables, and proper disposal procedures through training


  • Working knowledge of water extraction and pump systems


  • Eligible to operate a company vehicle in accordance with Our Client's vehicle policy


  • Strong sense of urgency with a positive attitude and professional demeanor


  • Excellent customer service and communication skills


  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English



Physical Demands


  • Frequently lift and carry materials weighing over 50 pounds


  • Occasionally lift 41+ pounds with assistance (up to 50% of the time)


  • Work in confined spaces and challenging environments


  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday


  • Ability to use mobile devices for documentation, data collection, and time reporting

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: $18.00-$20.00 per hour, based on experience.
