Job summary

Dominium is seeking a Water Systems Specialist to maintain water monitoring systems, troubleshoot components, and address leaks across assigned properties. The role involves fieldwork, regular travel between properties, and collaboration with property teams and vendors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical or vocational training in plumbing or a related trade.
• Minimum of two years of multifamily property maintenance or related technical field.
• Basic working knowledge of plumbing systems and common residential repairs.
• Multifamily property maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience identifying and repairing water leaks preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting water meters, submeters, leak-detection systems, routers, gateways, sensors, or other connected building equipment preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform hands-on repairs.
• Ability to safely and effectively use hand and power tools.
• Ability to travel regularly between properties and up to 50% overnight or out of state.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and troubleshoot water meters, routers, and related equipment to maintain system functionality.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance including battery replacements and equipment testing.
• Repair or replace non-functioning equipment and complete documentation.
• Review system alerts, usage data, and work requests to identify issues.
• Investigate and address water leaks and complete repairs.
• Escalate complex repairs to senior staff and coordinate with Water Systems Coordinator.
• Verify repaired equipment communicates and functions properly after service.
• Document inspections, battery changes, repairs, leaks, and outcomes.
• Communicate scheduled access and maintenance needs to property teams.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies per procedures.
• Provide training to property staff and maintenance teams on Dominium water systems.
• Escalate recurring technical issues to Lead Water Systems Specialist.
• Travel to properties for preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
