Job summary

Dominium is seeking a Water Systems Specialist to maintain water-monitoring systems, troubleshoot leaks, and perform preventive maintenance across properties. You will work with property teams, regional maintenance leaders, and vendors to ensure system readiness and timely repairs.

The role combines field work with remote administration, requiring regular travel to Dominium properties and the ability to work independently when not in the field.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical or vocational training in plumbing, building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or related trade preferred.
• Minimum of two years in multifamily property maintenance or related technical field.
• Basic working knowledge of plumbing systems and common residential repairs.
• Multifamily property maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience identifying and repairing water leaks preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting water meters, submeters, leakage-detection systems, routers, gateways, sensors or similar equipment preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Comfort with mobile devices, Outlook/Teams, work-order systems, and property-management software.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and maintenance procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel regularly between properties, up to 50% overnight or out of state.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and troubleshoot water meters, routers, and related equipment to maintain system functionality.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance including battery changes and equipment testing.
• Repair or replace non-functioning equipment and document work.
• Review alerts and data to identify issues and leaks needing investigation.
• Investigate and address leaks using established procedures and tools.
• Escalate complex issues to senior staff as needed.
• Verify communications and functionality after repairs.
• Document inspections, repairs, and outcomes with follow-up actions.
• Communicate with property teams about access, maintenance, leaks, and needs.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory per procedures.
• Provide training to property staff and maintenance teams on Dominium water systems.
• Escalate recurring technical issues to Lead Specialist or Coordinator.
• Travel to properties for field work and preventive maintenance.
