Job summary

City of Southlake is seeking a Public Works Technician for the Water Division to maintain water distribution and wastewater collection systems. The role includes maintaining hydrants, valves, manholes, meters, and mains while safely operating small equipment.

Qualifications include a Class B CDL (Texas) with Tanker Endorsement within 12 months, and TCEQ licenses for water distribution or wastewater collection. No prior experience is required beyond CDL readiness.

Qualifications

  • No experience required, but you must have the ability to obtain a Class B CDL within one year of employment.
  • Must currently possess a Class B CDL in the state of Texas.
  • Must currently possess a Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement within 12 months of employment.
  • Must currently possess a TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality) Class C Water Distribution and/or Class II Wastewater Collections license.

Responsibilities

  • The Public Works Technician within our Water Division performs proper maintenance of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
  • This is accomplished by maintaining City-owned fire hydrants, valves, manholes, water meters, and City mains.
  • Additional duties include safe operation of various small equipment and/or vehicles in order to complete other projects as assigned.
