Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of experience equivalent to Operator I.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver license before hiring.
• Must maintain T1 and D2 certifications at time of promotion or hire.
• Must be insurable to operate a company vehicle.
• Familiarity with water works regulations and basic computer software.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on wells, booster stations, and SCADA equipment.
• Take water meter readings and perform well soundings and hydrant tests.
• Read maps, blueprints, and diagrams; locate and mark underground utilities.
• Respond to customer inquiries concerning water quality and service issues.
• Conduct routine maintenance and monitor water supply and pressure via telemetry.
• Operate distribution systems safely and maintain records; standby during emergencies.
