Job summary

Golden State Water Company is seeking an entry to mid-level Water Distribution Operator to support its large California service area. The role involves learning maintenance and operation of the water distribution network, performing meter reads, and assisting with outages and repairs.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, valid California driver license, and basic PC and communication skills. This position may require after-hours work based on a 24/7 operation and emergency response

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Good written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Valid California driver's license may be required.
• Certifications for Operator II (SWRCB Grade 1) preferred for higher level.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate and maintain the water distribution system.
• Use tools and equipment safely and correctly.
• Install, repair, and replace mains, services, valves, hydrants, and meters under supervision.
• Interact with customers and represent the company.
• Perform meter reads and field investigations.
• Respond to outages and emergencies as needed.
• Record daily logs and reports of work performed.
