Center for Digital Governmtent is seeking candidates for full-time Water Systems Technician roles in the Anne Arundel County Water Division. The positions cover I–III levels, with advancement through certification and state licensing as you gain skills in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and laboratory work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; 2+ years experience in one or more of: facility plant operations, laboratory work, or mechanical, electrical or instrumentation maintenance work.
• A temporary Class 4 water operator's license; and a valid non-commercial Class C motor vehicle operator's license.
• Water/Wastewater Systems Technician II requires Anne Arundel County Water Systems Technician I certification; a temporary Class 4 license; and passage of MD water tests.
• This is a Safety Sensitive position and employees are subject to CDS and Alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains Anne Arundel County water treatment plants to ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Responds to customer inquiries and resolves customer problems.
• Conducts preventive maintenance on treatment plant and water booster station equipment.
• Creates, reviews, analyzes and submits spreadsheets, graphs, and monthly operating/regulatory reports.
• Reviews and updates Standard Operating Procedures for plant operations and maintenance.
• Performs laboratory testing and sampling per established standards and guidelines.
• Contributes to development of performance measurements.
• Monitors sludge levels and cleans service area equipment.
• Assists with mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance of process equipment and structures.
• Maintains housekeeping and grounds around treatment plants and booster stations.
