Job summary

The Town of Granby is seeking a Water Operator to join the Public Works team. This full-time, benefited role entails operating and maintaining wells, plants, tanks, and distribution systems to meet USEPA and state standards. Flexibility for night and weekend on-call work is required.

Responsibilities include daily system monitoring, water quality testing, and maintenance of hydrants, valves, and SCADA-enabled equipment. Valid Colorado licenses are preferred but on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to conduct water quality testing and regulatory reporting.
• Operates, inspects, maintains and repairs wells, plants, tanks and distribution systems.
• Must be able to assist nights and weekends for on-call water repairs and testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water system to ensure safe water to consumers.
• Daily system checks of treatment plants, vaults, pumps and tanks.
• Weekly inspection of vaults, meter reads and maintenance.
• On-call coverage rotates 24/7 for system checks.
