Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a motivated engineering intern to support plant engineering and water supply analysis at Tolk Station. The role requires hands-on testing of wells, flow rate calculations, and capital budgeting tasks with emphasis on report writing and collaboration.

The candidate should be a current ABET-accredited engineering student (sophomore or higher) and available full-time during the summer, up to 40 hours weekly, with hybrid in-person work.

Qualifications

• Current student, Sophomore or higher (as of Fall 2027).
• Enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university.
• Pursuing a degree in electrical, mechanical, civil, or chemical engineering.
• Able to work full-time during the summer, up to 40 hours a week.
• Able to commute to the designated work location in-person, per the hybrid work policy.
• Preferred: mechanical or electrical candidate.
• Competent with Microsoft Office and report writing.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support plant engineering and plant operations.
• Perform a study of all water wells providing water to Tolk Station.
• Use a flow meter and other equipment to test functioning water wells.
• Determine flow rates, water draw down, and pump efficiencies.
• Write a report on the gathered information.
• Support analysis of Tolk's water supply situation and future well-field needs or expansion.
• Develop capital budgets.
• Support plant engineering with operational issues.
• Develop plant projects, including capital and O&M projects.
• Obtain quotes and plan material deliveries.
• Help plant engineering troubleshoot plant issues.
