Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a summer intern to support the Performance Optimization Reliability Engineering group at the Tolk and Jones Station. You will assist plant engineering and operations, performing water well tests, writing reports, and aiding in project planning and material deliveries.

The role requires an ABET-accredited engineering program, the ability to work up to 40 hours per week on-site, and strong communication skills. Start date May 31, 2027, with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a degree in electrical, mechanical, civil, or chemical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Willing to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours per week) and commute to the designated location in-person under hybrid policy.
• Strong report writing and communication skills are preferred.
