Job summary

The City of Fullerton is seeking a Water Production Operator to operate and monitor pumping plants, wells, and the SCADA system to regulate water flow and ensure reliable delivery.

You will inspect equipment, record data, perform maintenance, and respond to emergencies. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team in a city utility environment.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years' experience in water system maintenance or operations.
• California Grade 3 Water Distribution Operator Certification required.
• California Grade 2 Water Treatment Operator Certification required.
• Valid Class C driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor pumping plants and wells to regulate water flow.
• Use SCADA to control and adjust water system operations.
• Check and maintain disinfection and treatment equipment for water quality.
• Inspect, clean, grease, and service motors, pumps and other components.
• Record meter readings and flow data; report system data.
• Maintain facilities and grounds around pumping stations.
