Job summary

The City of Caldwell (ID) is seeking an intermediate Production Operator to support the water distribution and treatment system. You will operate wells, pumps, SCADA controls, and perform routine maintenance while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will collect samples, document operational data, and respond to emergencies, after-hours issues, and citizen inquiries. A valid Idaho driver’s license and appropriate water licenses are required or pursued after hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two years in water ops preferred.
• Must possess valid Idaho driver’s license and CDL with tanker endorsement by hire date.
• Class I/II Water Distribution Licenses required or pursued within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor wells, pumps, booster stations, and reservoirs to regulate water pressure and quality.
• Collect water samples and ensure compliance with Safe Drinking Water Act standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance on chlorination and disinfection systems; operate SCADA.
• Maintain logs and records; respond to emergencies and after-hours issues.
• Assist with on-site training for new employees and coordinate with other departments.
