Job summary

City of Caldwell (ID) seeks an entry-level Production Operator to operate, maintain, and repair the city’s water production facilities. The role is conducted outdoors under supervision, with exposure to weather, traffic, and confined spaces.

Responsibilities include meter maintenance, installation, disinfection, monitoring chlorine residuals, processing work orders, and responding to emergencies. Requires HS diploma or GED, Class B CDL with Tanker within 6 months, and Idaho Class I Water

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required, with coursework in environmental science, business management, or communications.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training acceptable to perform the work.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair water production facilities.
• Perform preventative maintenance on meters, pumps, motors, water lines, and disinfection equipment.
• Install meters and meter boxes; repair and replace meters and lines.
• Monitor chlorine tank levels and residuals in the distribution system.
• Respond to emergencies and after-hours issues; communicate progress to supervision.
