Job summary

Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency seeks a Water Systems Supervisor to plan, supervise, and optimize water pumping, treatment, storage, and distribution operations. You will lead technical staff, develop policies, and oversee budgets, safety, and records to ensure reliable service.

The role requires an associate degree in a related field and five years of progressively responsible experience in water systems, plus California licenses and water certifications.

Qualifications

• An associate degree in chemistry, biology, engineering, water technology or related field.
• Five years of progressive operation and maintenance experience in water systems, including supervision.
• Must possess a California Driver's License and relevant water certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, supervise, and review staff and operations across water pumping, treatment, and distribution.
• Develop goals, policies, and procedures; implement and enforce standard operating procedures.
• Monitor budgets, prepare cost estimates, and process invoices and procurement documents.
• Oversee safety, records, and reporting; ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Coordinate with engineering and other departments on development projects and plant upgrades.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies to maintain reliable water service.
