Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• Minimum of one year of experience in operation and maintenance of a public water supply or related construction experience.
• MA Class B license with air-break endorsement; Hoisting License 2B; D1 Water Distribution license within specified timelines.
• Must have a responsible driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment including front-end loaders, backhoes, gate and valve exercising equipment, compacting equipment, and skid steer loaders.
• Respond to emergencies and assist in emergency response activities related to water system failures or crises.
• Digs, braces, backfills, and tampers excavations; install and repair asphalt and concrete.
• Read and follow engineering blueprints, sketches, and diagrams of the water and sewer system; locate and maintain underground utilities.
