Job summary

The City of Peoria, AZ is seeking a senior civil engineer to lead the Water Services division, overseeing engineering, operational technology and water resources staff to deliver the CIP and IWUMP projects. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's in civil engineering, 7+ years in civil engineering with 5+ years in supervision, and a Registered Professional Civil Engineer license in Arizona.

ADEQ Operator Certification preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or related field.
Minimum of seven years increasingly responsible professional experience in civil engineering and five years of supervisory experience.
Registered Professional Civil Engineer in Arizona upon hire.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of engineering, operational technology and water resources staff.
Oversees preparation and delivery of the Water Services CIP.
Oversees development of IWUMP and reviews proposed community master plans.
Manages infrastructure planning with City and private development to coordinate with IWUMP and Engineering Standards.
Acts as Water Services liaison for private development and monitors development reviews.
Provides technical, operational, and process support to Water Services divisions.
Oversees Water Resources team to ensure adequate future water supply.
Collaborates with IT on technology advances supporting department activities.
