City of Peoria, AZ, seeks a senior water resources leader to manage planning, operations and staffing across the Water Services Department. The role directs CIP delivery and IWUMP development, ensures coordination with engineering standards, and serves as the primary liaison for private development.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in water and wastewater systems, SCADA, and a proven supervisory track record. A B.S.
This position performs work of considerable difficulty in planning, organizing, and directing the activities of engineering, operational technology and water resources staff. Oversees preparation and project delivery of the Water Services Department Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). Oversees the development of the City’s Integrated Water Utilities Master Plan (IWUMP) and reviews proposed new and updated community master plans. Manages the planning of infrastructure improvements designed and constructed by the City and by private development to ensure proper coordination with the IWUMP and the City’s Engineering Standards. Acts as the main Water Services liaison for private development, including assigning staff to monitor and participate in the City’s development review processes. Provides technical, operational, and process support to the various operations divisions of the Water Services Department. Has oversight over the City’s Water Resources team to ensure an adequate water supply for the City’s future. Works with the City’s IT Department on keeping up with technology advances that support department activities and oversees the Water Services data management activities. This position also serves to manage and provide direction to the Water Resources, Operational Technology/SCADA and Engineering staff.
