Job summary

HDR is seeking a Water Supply Business Class Leader in Phoenix, AZ, to oversee complex water supply programs and coordinate with staff and leadership across markets. The role emphasizes strategic oversight, cross-functional leadership, and strong stakeholder engagement in a dynamic, employee-owned environment.

You will manage scopes, schedules, and budgets, mentor senior staff, and drive business development across the Arizona and broader Southwest region, ensuring high-quality project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related field.
• 10 years of related experience in water resources or water supply planning.
• Professional engineering registration and related technical experience.
• Proven ability to develop and manage diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Support AZ/NM Water Resources Management Market Sector initiatives, projects, marketing, clients, growth, BC coordination and maintain open communication with staff and leadership.
• Coordinate BC operations staffing needs and hiring efforts.
• Manage complex water supply programs including scope, schedule, budget and risk with multiple agencies and stakeholders.
• Work with Arizona leadership to address delivery issues and obtain approvals for BC operations.
• Attend national workload calls and coordinate with national WS team and BC Director.
• Lead pursuits of water supply projects and review scopes and fees.
• Mentor and develop mid- and senior-level staff.
• Provide strategic and technical oversight of surface and groundwater modeling and water supply planning.
