Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer seeks a Sr. Project Engineer/Manager, Drinking water for our Arizona offices located in Tempe, Tucson, and Goodyear.

You will lead project engineering and management, developing drinking water projects across Arizona and the Southwest—and collaborate with Hazen water practice groups nationwide. You will manage proposals, mentor junior staff, coordinate with clients and internal specialists, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining quality standards across diverse

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering.
• PE license.
• 12+ years of experience in municipal water treatment, reuse, water quality, water treatment technology, or manufacturing.
• Experience delivering projects spanning multiple years in multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient in MS Office software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with staff, clients, and regulators.
• Self-starter with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to present complex issues to nontechnical people.

Responsibilities

• Project management, design, planning, operational support, and business development for drinking water projects.
• Supporting and developing proposal development.
• Mentoring junior drinking water staff.
• Direct coordination and collaboration with clients.
• Coordination with internal technical specialists and design professionals for project delivery.
• Managing projects to meet client expectations, budgets, and quality requirements.
• Following Hazen processes to ensure quality delivery.
• Technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments on projects.
• Planning, studies, design, and support through construction and operation.
• Evaluating staff progress and recommending changes to achieve project objectives.
