Job summary

LCWSD is seeking a Utility Worker to assist with maintenance, repair, and installation of water and sewer lines, including pipes and valves. You will transport tools, identify underground utilities with the crew, and help with orders and equipment prep.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred), and the ability to lift heavy weights. Expect outdoor work, day hours, and on-call responsibilities as part of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required; Class A CDL preferred.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs, and installs water and sewer lines, pipes, valves, and related equipment.
• Transports equipment, tools, and materials to and from job sites.
• Identifies underground utilities and communicates locations with the crew.
• Cleans and maintains assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Loads and unloads materials using a forklift.
• Sets up cones and flags to regulate traffic and ensure safety.
• Ensures tools and parts are stocked on the truck before arriving at job sites.
• Assists with work orders as needed.
• Participates in after-hours on-call shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Interacts with customers, contractors, and the public as needed.
