Brentwood Water Services Department is seeking a dependable Water & Sewer Technician to install, maintain, and repair water and sewer systems for Brentwood residents and businesses. This hands-on, outdoor role offers a pathway to career stability in public infrastructure.

The incumbent will climb into pump stations, read data, and perform heavy manual labor while ensuring safety and teamwork. Senior level includes leadership responsibilities and advanced system diagnostics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Experience in construction, plumbing, utility, pipeline, public works, or related maintenance work is preferred for the technician levels.
• Senior level requires TN Class II water distribution license and Cross Connections Control certification.
• CDL is preferred or must be obtained within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair water and sewer lines, meters, hydrants, and related equipment.
• Assist with pump stations, property, easements, and work areas.
• Operate and maintain vehicles and tools used in water and sewer operations.
• Collect data such as pressure, flow, and chlorine readings.
• Complete work orders and reports using department systems.
• Senior level: provide leadership in the superintendent’s absence and assist with advanced diagnostics.
